| Skip Fisk - March 2003 By Dorcey Wingo Mar 1, 2003 |
Today, March 23rd, we lost a great one: Captain Skip Fisk of Hamilton, Montana.
Skip was command pilot of a Carson S-61 logging in Tennessee. Details are sketchy, but early reports indicate a loud bang outbound from the log landing, followed by another loud bang just before it crashed. Skip was heard to say "What was that?!" and "Oh s...t!" just before the crash. The ship reportedly caught fire. Shawn Winter was the copilot and reportedly gave directions over the radio to guide Life Flight into the area. Shawn is reported to be in critical condition.
Skip leaves behind a devoted wife, Teri, two sons, and a daughter. To all of us who knew and/or worked with Skip, we can only say, he was the best!
