Mr. Bryant was born Sept. 15, 1957, in Aberdeen to Dr. Howard Wayne and Lila (Bradley) Bryant. He grew up in Hoquiam and attended Hoquiam High School. He also attended the Hoquiam Methodist Church

For a few of you this will be a shock, but most of you are all aware of our fatal helicopter accident on Friday, March 10 here in Amarillo. We lost our pilot, Ed Sanneman, our flight nurse, Lauren Stone and flight paramedic, Terry Griffith and our little patient, four month old Kathy Esparza. Please keep their families in your prayers as we go through this time of grief

On the afternoon of Friday September 12 1997 the Search and Rescue World was thrust into mourning when a helicopter crashed on a search, killing 3 people, seriously injuring 2, and wounding three more.

"Near legend" were the words used to describe helicopter pilot and volunteer rescuer Daniel J. Murphy for his willingness to get involved. He was the pilot of choice among emergency medical technicians--caring, compassionate and safe--with excellent flight skills for the daring rescue missions he flew in remote logging areas.
