We lost a great friend. Bob Giard. Bob started flying later in his life and was one of those guys that pursued it with a passion. He didn't have the money to complete all his training so he begged and borrowed to finish. After training/instructing he went to Memphis to fly ENG. After this he went to the Grand Canyon to do tours then a short stint in EMS that he left because the operator "scared him" as he put it. He then went to the Gulf and back to EMS in S. Carolina where his career ended abruptly. Bob crossed paths with a lot of pilots and I doubt any could say that he didn't make them laugh. He had a big heart and will be missed by lots of us around the country. This is a small industry so please take a moment and remember Bob, and remember that this could be any of us. Fly safe.
