• Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
• Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts.
• Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.

• Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements (AH-1, UH-1, Bell 212, Bell 205/204).
• Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory.

I.  SUMMARY

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the management of all maintenance activities at Midwest MedAir. A Full-time AS350 trained helicopter mechanic is needed with strong inspections, record keeping and writing skills.   Must have A&P license, good computer and electrical skills and at least 3 years experience on AS350 airframes.

This position will be the primary inspector of aircraft and will be responsible for the proper maintenance of all fleet records.

Our A&P Mechanics perform a variety of general helicopter maintenance including, but not limited to, detailed aircraft inspections, minor and major repair alterations and main rotor / tail rotor balancing.  If you are interested in joining the Med-Trans Family as a Mechanic, you will need to possess the following:

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience on turbine powered helicopters
• Must have extensive knowledge of FARs
• Bell 407 or EC135 experience preferred
• Inspection Authorization and additional FAA/FCC ratings is a plus
• IFR helicopter avionics and auto pilot experience is a plus
• Manufacturer training or equivalent on Bell 407, EC135, or both preferred
• Must have a minimum of six-months helicopter maintenance experience during the past 24 months
