Enstrom Obtains Certification of Garmin® G1000H™ Integrated Flight Deck

Menominee, MI — Enstrom is pleased to announce that the Federal Aviation Administration has certified the Garmin G1000H all-glass, integrated flight deck for installation in its 480B helicopter model. The new configuration will be designated the 480B-G.

Bell Helicopter Showcases the Bell 429 WLG’s Capabilities through a Five Month Customer Demo Tour in Latin America

FORT WORTH, TEXAS  – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), showcased the versatility and superior performance of the Bell 429 WLG, the aircraft’s wheeled landing gear variant, with nearly 60 demonstration flights between March 2014 to July 2014 in Latin America.

“We received great feedback from our customers about the retractable landing gear for ground taxi operations,” said Jay Ortiz, managing director for Latin America. “Since we introduced the aircraft in late 2013, we have been telling everyone about how well it was suited for this region, but finally had the chance to show firsthand how the proven performance of the Bell 429 easily integrates into a fixed base operations environment.”  

Airbus Helicopters starts delivery of EC145 T2 with DRF Luftrettung

Donauwörth – The handover of the first EC145 T2 to DRF Luftrettung marks yet another milestone for Airbus Helicopters in the successful program for the BK117/EC145 family. In spring 2014, the latest addition to the family received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA and is now ready to take on a wide variety of missions. More than 100 orders have already been placed for the new helicopter, which was developed and manufactured in Donauwörth.

Bell Helicopter Introduces the First Two Bell 429s to Poland

Fort Worth, TX  – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), has announced signed purchase agreements with two private customers for the first two Bell 429s to be delivered in Poland. The deal became official during a formal signing ceremony at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA). The agreement was signed on behalf of Bell Helicopter by JB Investments Ltd., the company’s Independent Representative in Poland. 

REACH Air Medical Services Announces New Air Ambulance Base in Willits, CA

SANTA ROSA, CA  - REACH Air Medical Services (REACH) announces the expansion of their Northern California emergency helicopter service to include a new base opening in Mendocino County, California. Located at the Willits Municipal Airport known as Ells Field, this base will provide round-the-clock, life‐saving emergency medical services to the community. Patients will be transported in a new Eurocopter EC135 aircraft, which will be dedicated to this market and to the hospitals REACH has been serving for years. REACH flies medical helicopters and planes from more than 20 bases located throughout California, Oregon and Texas.

Precision Aviation Training Displays First US Registered Cabri G-2

The first US-registered Guimbal Cabri G-2 aircraft is on display for the patrons of the 2014 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisc., at Precision Aviation Training, LLC booth located at the HAI HELI-CENTER. This Bruno Guimbal-designed machine has had EASA certification since 2007 and now certified in over 20 countries. The Cabri G-2 is engineered with safety and reliability at its foundation making it ideally suited for helicopter training applications. All of the required FAA flight tests have recently been concluded on this aircraft.

RSI Adds Airbus EC130T2 to STC Approved Installation of VSLA Batteries

Rotorcraft Support, Inc. has added the Airbus Helicopters EC130T2 to it line of STC approved installations of Concord valve regulated sealed lead acid (VSLA) batteries. This STC allows operators to install the RG350 as a direct replacement of the NiCad battery.

Without the need for deep cycle and battery warning system inspections, this installation lowers the maintenance requirements when compared to the traditional NiCad battery. There are no additional airworthiness limitations associated with this installation. RG series batteries can be shipped standard shipping has HAZMAT EXEMPT which also reduces cost and paperwork when supporting aircraft in the field. All batteries are shipped fully charged and ready to install.

 Bell Helicopter Delivers First Bell 429 to the New York Police Department

FORT WORTH, TEXAS  – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today the delivery of the first Bell 429 helicopter to the New York Police Department (NYPD.) The aircraft will be one of four new Bell 429s that will be used for airborne law enforcement patrol on behalf of the citizens of New York City and surrounding jurisdictions. The aircraft was delivered in mid-July and the milestone was celebrated by representatives from the NYPD and Bell Helicopter on July 29 during a special delivery ceremony at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, NY. In addition, a Bell 407 was delivered in May 2014 to serve as a training aircraft for the fleet. Once the deliveries and trade-ins are complete, the new Bell 429s will operate alongside two Bell 412EPs for a variety of missions, ranging from search and rescue at sea to gathering intelligence and combating terrorism. Delivery of the NYPD’s remaining Bell 429 aircraft is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
