Mark Cherry is Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Synergy for Sikorsky Aircraft



Mark Cherry is Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Synergy for Sikorsky Aircraft, a division of United Technologies. In this role, Mark has responsibility to lead Sikorsky's strategic planning function conducting market and competitive analysis, partnering with Sikorsky business leaders to develop strategic plans to ensure profitable business growth. His duties include rigorous planning for effective mergers and acquisitions through targeting, evaluation, and capture integration.

Prior to this appointment, he was Vice President of Marine Corps Systems with overall responsibility for the successful execution of the CH-53K, H-53D/E (Legacy), and Executive Transport helicopter programs. Under his leadership, the CH-53K helicopter development program advanced to a successful critical design review and began system assembly, hitting key program milestones.

Previously, he was Director of Operations Planning and Analysis with responsibility for demand, capacity and build planning of large aircraft and spares for the operations group. He joined United Technologies from Teradyne Inc., where he held increasingly responsible positions in program management, operations and strategy, after working as a consultant in the Boston office of Boston Consulting Group where he participated in a number of engagements with technology and industrial goods companies.

Mark served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, where he held several roles including lead battle damage engineer for the A-10 program as well as leading and participating in numerous acquisition programs in the Air Force including awarding the contract to replace the Sacramento Air Logistics Center, and defining criteria and technologies for early Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) programs with a multi-agency team.

Mark joined industry after receiving a MBA from Stanford University. In addition to an MBA, Mark holds dual Master of Science degrees in Systems and Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton Ohio, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the United States Air Force Academy
