Andrew Drwiega, Helisphere and AER Chairman:

The constant threat of humanitarian and environmental disasters across the world has prompted a massive response from the International community to help deliver humanitarian aid and assistance to countries affected by tsunamis, earthquakes and wildfires.

A completely unique exhibition and two day conference focusing on the entire sphere of Aerial Assets and their contribution to humanitarian needs, environmental disasters and relief operations in the Asia-Pacific region will take place on 27-28 October 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The launch of Tangent Link’s Aerial Emergency Response event will bring together rotary and fixed wing operators, manufacturers and equipment suppliers who specialise in providing the framework to support civil emergencies, from those requiring multiple assets and responders down to individual cases, as well as draw attention to specific emerging technologies available from key providers, creating a dynamic environment for effective business networking and information sharing.

This event aims to analyse and improve the skills, delivery and persistence of Aerial Emergency Responders within the Asia-Pacific Region. It is designed to examine a targeted range of Aerial Emergency Response topics that operators and decision makers need to address which have relevance to humanitarian and environmental disasters. There will be presentations from regional and global experts, government bodies and relevant associations.

The key themes to be addressed are as follows:

  • Regional Interoperability & Coordination
  • Training Emergency Responders
  • Emergency Extraction
  • Patient Care &Transportation
  • Surveillance & Analysis
  • Search & Rescue: Tactics & Technologies
  • Firefighting
  • Disaster Relief & Planning for the future
