Frasca Built S76 Full Flight Simulator Gets Dual Qualification

Frasca International, Urbana, IL is proud to announce that Bristow Helicopters, Aberdeen, Scotland has received dual qualification for their Frasca S76 Full Flight Simulator (FFS). The S76 FFS is the third certified helicopter device under JAA with both Level B FFS and Level III FTD approval. The two others are Bristow’s S92 FFS and EC225 FFS, also built by Frasca, qualified in 2011.

The S76, EC225 and S92 FFSs are being used at the Bristow Academy in Aberdeen to support training requirement for Bristow’s global fleet of helicopters. All three units feature 6 axis electric motion base, TruVision™ Global visual system with custom databases and wrap around display system.

With these devices, Frasca demonstrates the ability as an industry leader in simulation, to provide cost effective, value added solutions to meet training needs in a demanding environment. This project involved thousands of man hours of intensive research, gathering of aerodynamic system data, programming and manufacturing a high-fidelity replica of the cockpit.

“This is the third dual qualified Full Flight Simulator that Frasca has built for Bristow.  It clearly demonstrates the viability of the FFS B, FTD 3 concept in economic, technological and most significantly training capabilities.   These Dual qualified simulator FTD’s have proven their value as an efficient and effective tool for initial and recurrent training of helicopter pilots.  In addition Frasca has demonstrated the ability to build and certify cost effective Full Flight Simulator using alternative data sources and methods.  Our inventory of off the shelf designs for helicopter devices is growing giving operators clear options for their full flight simulator and flight training device needs,” stated John Frasca, President, Frasca International, Inc.
