CSI Aviation to Expand Emergency Response Services into Oil, Gas Markets

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In the oil and gas industry, where one broken piece of equipment can cost a company an exorbitant amount of money, it’s absolutely necessary to have a rapid, emergency response service in place to ensure that the equipment is replaced immediately. Not only does the replacement equipment have to ship quickly, it has to be handled properly once it reaches its destination and then moved from the hangar to the worksite in good order.

Enter CSI Aviation, a global aviation support and logistics company. With more than 30 years of experience in aviation support and logistics, the company announced today that it will begin expanding its emergency response services into the oil and gas industry, serving as a safety net for companies that at anytime might need an aircraft for their operations.

“If a piece of equipment breaks down in the middle of the night, a company shouldn’t have to wait until dawn for a solution. That’s where we come in. No matter the time, location or complexity of the operation, we’re going to deliver,” said Tommy Dunn, Vice President of Marketing.

Aviation support and logistics is a natural fit for CSI Aviation. The company’s CEO and founder, Allen Weh, is a retired Marine Colonel and decorated veteran with a 38-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, where he spent much of his military career handling complex logistics. The company’s emergency response services have been used in a number of instances, including mass evacuations and product delivery.

In one recent example, an oil company had a crucial piece of equipment fail. The longer the piece of equipment remained incapacitated, the more money the company would lose. To complicate matters, the piece of equipment needed to fix the operation was located on the other side of the globe. CSI Aviation managed to get the new parts on an airplane within a few hours of the first phone call. From there, CSI Aviation arranged the ground transportation to deliver the equipment from the airfield to the oil field.

The CSI Story
CSI Aviation is a service-oriented, Albuquerque-based company that was founded in 1979 by Allen Weh. With a $25,000 bank loan, hard work and great vision, Weh built CSI Aviation from a one-man business into one of the world’s most respected aviation support companies.  The CSI team specializes in designing and implementing complex air transportation programs that include everything from emergency evacuation and movement of people to retrofitting aircraft to accommodate special security or delicate cargo transport needs.
CSI Aviation operates globally and serves customers that include Fortune 500 corporations, federal agencies, athletic organizations, the film industry, energy and oil and gas industries, and more.
