Date: Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 8:00 AM-1:30 PM

Mike Franz has been flying helicopters for 43 plus years, and like many pilots, he started out during the Vietnam War. He is both a rotary and fixed wing pilot (single/multi engine, CFI).

FITS stands for FAA/Industry Training Standards. In this session, Mike will present the three core concepts and the elements of each, so you understand the benefits of SBT compared to MBT. This class is not just for CFI’s! Every pilot from student on up can learn more about Scenario Based Training. Mike starts his session with a discussion on Aeronautical Decision Making.
On March 13th, 2011 an S-58 helicopter crashed while lifting an external load. The helicopter was consumed by fire, but the pilot survived. Listen firsthand as pilot Steve Bull tells you about the events of that day.
This is a pay for event. Current PHPA members and student pilots with their certificates are free. All others are $35 (which includes annual membership). Lunch and snacks provided.
