5th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition 2012

The exhibition is being held in accordance with the Russian Federation Government on 28 July, 2011 No. 1310-r. The organizer is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the organizing sponsor is Russian Helicopter Systems CJSC.

The title sponsor of the event is UIC Oboronprom OJSC, the general sponsor is Eurocopter Vostok, and the official sponsor is Vneshekonombank.

HeliRussia-2012 is the only exhibition in Russia where the entire range of products and services provided by the helicopter industry is presented: from design, production and modernization, to operation and maintenance. Also, models of navigation equipment, radar and other ground-based control are presented.

More than 200 companies will participate in the 5th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition from 18 countries around the world: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, USA, UK, France, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Spain, India, Finland, Poland, Colombia, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania.

Last year, 161 companies from 16 countries participated in the exhibition, 156 from 14 countries in 2010, and 129 companies from 10 countries worldwide were represented at the first exhibition.

The HeliRussia 2012 exhibition will be located over 10,750 square meters, where there will be 150 Russian and 51 foreign companies.

The first day of the exhibition on May 17 has been declared the Day of Russian Helicopters.
20 helicopters will be provided for demonstration: Ka-62, Mi-28NE, Mi-8AMT, Mi-34S1 OP1 (patrol), Ansat, EC135, As 350, AW139, Bell 407, Enstrom 480, R66, R44, R22, Rumas 10 , Rumas 30, produced by MIL Moscow Helicopter Plant JSC, Kamov JSC, Kazan Helicopter Plant JSC, Eurocopter, AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter, Robinson Helicopters, Enstrom Helicopter, and RUMAS Group. There will be two helicopters by the entrance to the exhibition hall: an Mi-28N military helicopter (with locator) and a civilian Mi-8AMT.  One foreign and ten Russian companies will present military products at HeliRussia 2012.
 
The HeliRussia Russian helicopter industry exhibition area has already established itself as a springboard to enter European and global markets. This year, Moscow will host two world premières. The première will feature helicopters of medium and light class.
Russian Helicopters Holding will for the first time present a multi-purpose transport-passenger helicopter, medium class, developed by Kamov JSC.
Russian-Czech company RUMAS Group prepared the Rumas 10 light 2-seater coaxial helicopter model for demonstration at the 2012 HeliRussia première, as well as its version of a fire extinguishing system for high-rise structures designed by the company.

The basis of the Russian exhibition will consist of the UIC Oboronprom OJSC stand uniting Russian Helicopters Holding and the United Engine Building Corporation. 18 Russian companies will present their projects in an area of 620 square meters.  51 foreign companies of the helicopter industry will be participating in 2012 HeliRussia, including global market leaders such as Eurocopter, Sikorsky Aircraft, AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter, Enstrom Helicopter, Motor Sich, Ivchenko - Progress Group, Turbomeca, Pall Corporation, Red Box International, Breeze-Eastern, SkyTrac Systems Ltd., Hutchinson Aerospace, Simplex Manufacturing, CAE, BAE Systems, DAC Intl and others. Of most interest at the Russian exhibition are American companies - 15 companies from the USA will be on display in Moscow this year.

Participation by French companies has become a standing tradition at the International Helicopter Industry Exhibition. This year, there will be eight companies at the collective French stand, and three are participated independently. Canada and Germany are represented by 3 companies each.

Helicopter engines will be presented by Ukrainian company Motor Sich, French Turbomeca and Russian UEBC, represented by UEIA, Klimov JSC, and Inkar PAO JSC.

For the third consecutive year, gyroplanes will be exhibited at HeliRussia, and this year, they will be represented by nine models. There will be a presentation of the new MTO Agric gyro intended for aviation chemical work as well as the new national MTO Broom gyro, characterized by their unprecedented low price.  Visitors can also learn about the latest in navigation equipment, ground support, radar control and equipment for helipads, etc.
For the first time, demonstration flights will be held from the Crocus Expo helipad by a Bell 407 and Robinson R44 during the exhibition.
 
By tradition, the HeliRussia exhibit space will be not only a place to showcase the achievements of the global helicopter industry, but also to discuss current and cross-sectoral issues. Over three days, at the exhibition 30 international conferences, round tables, seminars, presentations, award ceremonies and winners of international competitions for the helicopter category will take place.

This year, within the framework of HeliRussia, the "Russia and air ambulance medical evacuation - 2012" Interdepartmental Scientific-Practical Conference will take place, which will raise complex issues of health aviation in Russia. The organizers of the conference - the Helicopter Industry Association and the Mobile Medicine company - provide an open discussion forum for representatives of government agencies, professionals, medical institutions of various forms of ownership, those with experience in the medical evacuation of patients using aeroplanes and helicopters, as well as organizations involved in the development, production and certification of aircraft and medical equipment, to widely cover complex issues of reconstruction of health aviation in Russia. The conference will bring together leading experts from around the country.

One of the key events of the exhibition will be the "Helicopter Market: Reality and Prospects" International Conference, organized by the Helicopter Industry Association and AviaPort industry agency. The conference will consider the parameters of the Russian helicopter market from the perspective of helicopter consumers and producers. The discussion will bring together representatives of leading helicopter operators and manufacturers. The conference will also hear reports the global helicopter market predictions from Honeywell Aerospace (director of market analysis, Charles Park), on the US helicopter market from the Helicopter Association International, and on the Russian helicopter market. For the first time at the event, information will be provided on the status and future helicopter market of Ukraine.

This year, participants and visitors to HeliRussia will have the unique opportunity to take part in the discussion of global development trends of Russia in the long term, which will take place at the "Russia 2050+: dialogue of science and business" round table, organized by the Council for the Study of Productive Forces of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Russian Academy of Sciences. This will be the second in a series of round tables on the future model of Russia, where the theoretical position of the first event will be tested on business structures.

Safety is always a current topic for aviation - the Helicopter Industry Association will hold a "New technologies of helicopter safety management" seminar, which will focus on the experience of foreign colleagues.

A round table will be devoted to innovations in the helicopter industry - "Condensed gas aviation concentrated fuel - a real alternative to traditional aviation fuel", which will be conducted by the Expert Council on Current Scientific, Technical and Socio-Economic Issues under the aegis of the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, together with the Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute, the Information-Analytical System for Monitoring Aircraft Airworthiness and Interaviagaz. The aim of the exercise is to validate the technical feasibility, economic expediency and safety of use in aviation of environmentally friendly air and cheap gas aviation fuel.

Another event devoted to the issues of aviation fuel will be the "Condition and development of aviation fuel provision in Russia" conference, organized by the Helicopter Industry Association, AviaServis company and Association of Organizations for Aviation Fuel Provision for Aircraft.
 

HeliRussia is an exhibition which allows the demonstration of military production. The organizer of the seminar is FSUE Gamma.  On 18 May, at Helirussia there will be a demonstration of flight and corporate clothing from Technoavia manufacturing company with the participation of models from Slava Zaitsev House of Fashion. Attention will be paid to modern fashions for flight and engineering personnel, as well as work clothes for ground services and office staff.  There will be numerous presentations of products and services form various companies of the helicopter industry.

HeliRussia 2012 will also have celebratory events. The main event of the year for members of the helicopter community will be the annual Helicopter Industry Association award ceremony, which will take place at an association gala evening on 18 May.
The exhibition will summarize results of the 2nd International Competition for the best works of journalism on the topic of helicopters, established by the Helicopter Industry Association with the assistance of Mediacratia National Association of Journalists and the Aviation Press Club with the support of Russian Helicopters holding.

There will be an awards ceremony for the winners of "Helicopters of the 21st century" held by Russian Helicopters and UIC Oboronprom and a "Beauty of helicopters" photography competition organized by the Helicopter Industry Association.

The famous Hamilton watch brand will officially unveil the unique "Golden Eagles" Russian helicopter pilot group as its envoy during the HeliRussia 2012 international helicopter industry exhibition. Hamilton dedicated a special model of their aircraft line, KHAKI X-COPTER, limited edition of 50, to the "Golden Eagles". On Saturday, 19 May, the "Golden Eagles" members of the helicopter aerobatic team will be presented with an inscribed watch made by the company at the exhibition.

 The "Golden Eagles" will meet with members of the women's flying specialists' Aviatrissa, which in 2012 will celebrates its 20th anniversary at HeliRussia. On 19 May on the stage of the pavilion, outstanding women pilots will talk about their successes and achievements.
The "Crocus Expo" exhibition centre, where HeliRussia is traditionally held, can be reached by public overground and underground transport (Myakinino Metro station), as well as directly to by specialized exhibition transport: helicopters. The official air carrier of the exhibition, HeliExpress, will drop off passengers near the entrance of the exhibition hall, and as always, everybody can take advantage of it.  During the exhibition, this company will also conduct demonstration flights. Visitors will be able to register for a flight at the HeliExpress stand.
Crocus Expo will have special facilities for all participants and guests who arrive at the HeliRussia 2012 by their own helicopters. They will be able to park their helicopters near the pavilion.
