Russian Helicopters to showcase commercial and military models at Farnborough International Airshow

Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec, will showcase the latest Russian-built commercial and military helicopters at the Farnborough International Airshow from 14-20 July. The Company's display can be found at stand 1/E10.

At the airshow, Russian Helicopters will present the medium coaxial Ka-32A11BC, which can fly a range of special missions and is an effective tool in fighting fires, including in high-rise buildings, and rescue missions. The Ka-32A11BC holds EASA type certificatе and operates successfully in Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, South Korea and Japan.

Rotorcraft Support, Inc .(RSI) has received FAA STC approval for installation of the Garmin G500H Display system into the Bell 427. Owners and operators of the 427 can now take of an increased level of situational awareness with the approved installation of the Garmin G500H dual screen multi-function display. This enhancement to the 427 allows operators to take full advantage of the custom configurations of the G500H to suit the operational requirements. “There was a need for leveraging this technology into the 427 to bring additional information into the cockpit to reduce pilot workload, increase safety and provide a fully integrated display” adds Pete Boeller, Avionics Manager at RSI.

Mi-8/17s demonstrate unique capabilities in operation in Russia's Far North

Russian-built Mi-8/17 helicopters received plaudits from experts during a round table on local and regional aviation in the Russian Far North in early July. The event was attended by the head of the Nenets Autonomous Region, Igor Koshin, as well as national aviation experts and representatives of equipment producers, operators and clients for aviation equipment.

"We have operated the Mi-8MTV since 1990, and since then have clocked up more than 40,000 flight-hours," said Valery Ostapchuk, CEO of Naryan-Mar United Air Detachment. "There have been no engine failures and no gearbox breakdowns. It is a wonderful helicopter and extremely reliable."
