Turbomeca (Safran) signed a contract with the Royal Netherlands Air Force

London - Turbomeca (Safran) signed a 25 million EUR contract with the Royal Netherlands Air Force for the repair, overhaul and inspection of their Makila engines.

This contract covers the Makila 1A2 engines, powering today the 17 AS532 Cougar helicopters of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. These helicopters are notably used for missions in for instance Afghanistan, “anti piracy mission” at the Horn of Africa, fire fighting, where the helicopter has proven its capability.

Compared to the Makila 1A1, the Makila 1A2 offers higher performance and continuous power availability thanks to its EECU (Electronic Engine Control Unit).

MD HELICOPTERS RECEIVES ORDER FOR TWO MD 902 EXPLORER AIRCRAFT FROM KURDISTAN REGIONAL GOVERNMENT

MESA, Ariz. – MD Helicopters Inc. (MDHI), a Lynn Tilton company and leading manufacturer of commercial, air-rescue, military and law enforcement helicopters, announced new orders from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for two MD 902 Explorer helicopters. The helicopters will provide VIP transport support to senior government officials. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2013.

Bell Helicopter Delivers First VIP Bell 429 to United Kingdom

MANSTON, ENGLAND – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today the delivery of the first VIP-configured Bell 429 to be flown in the United Kingdom to TJ Morris Ltd.

TJ Morris will take advantage of the Bell 429’s Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) capability, certified for single or dual pilot operations, to maximize situational awareness and reduce pilot workload during corporate missions. TJ Morris accepted the Bell 429 during the grand opening ceremony of the new Heli-Charter Ltd facility, Bell Helicopter’s Independent Representative and Customer Service Facility in the United Kingdom.

AgustaWestland Opens New RandO Facility in Belgium

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce the opening of a new Repair  and Overhaul facility for its subsidiary Agusta Aerospace Services, thus further expanding its Customer Support activities in Europe.

The R&O facility has a surface of 2,016 m² and is located in Zaventem close to Brussels airport. The facility includes NDI test capability, test benches for each transmission approved, a painting room, inspection room and offices. R&O is conducted for all of Agusta Aerospace Services’ customers, as required, including management of vendor items.

Turbomeca (Safran) and Avincis Group sign a Global Support Contract

London - During Helitech, Turbomeca (Safran) and Avincis Group are pleased to announce the signature of a global support contract that covers engines operated by Inaer, Bond Air Services, Bond Offshore Helicopters and Australian Helicopters.
