American Eurocopter Awards Honor Leaders  in Air Medical Safety

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – It was a night to recognize the “best of the best” in air medical safety Monday at the Air Medical Transport Conference Annual Community Awards, part of the annual AMTC event held this year in Virginia Beach, Va.
           
More than a dozen awards were presented, including the Jim Charlson Aviation Safety Award and Program of the Year, both sponsored by American Eurocopter.

Bell Helicopter Showcases Helicopter Air Ambulance Aircraft at AMTC 2013

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), will highlight two of its most popular aircraft in the Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) segment, the Bell 429 and Bell 407GX, on static display at the 2013 Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC). Hosted by the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), AMTC will take place this year in Virginia Beach, Virginia, October 21 to 23. 

Russian Helicopters and Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 to hold regional forum on joint Russian-Kazakh helicopter projects

Almaty, Kazakhstan - Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of Rostec State Corporation, and Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405, with support from the Akimat of Almaty, will host the Russian-Kazakh Helicopter Projects regional forum on 23 October at the Dostyk hotel in Almaty.

LORD CORPORATION SELECTED BY SIKORSKY TO HELP MODERNIZE THE UH-60 BLACK HAWK HELICOPTER

Cary, NC – LORD Corporation – a global leader in the management of vibration, motion and noise control – has been selected to be a member of the U.S. Army Aviation Development Directorate (ADD) – Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) and Sikorsky Innovations team to demonstrate zero-vibration technology on the U.S. Army’s UH-60 BLACK HAWK helicopter.

Sikorsky and ADD-AATD entered into an agreement to enhance survivability and durability of the BLACK HAWK fleet as part of the Combat Tempered Platform Demonstration (CTPD). This project advances and integrates key technologies including a zero-vibration system, adaptive flight control laws, advanced fire management, durable main rotor, full-spectrum crashworthiness, and a damage tolerant airframe. The goal is to demonstrate an operationally durable and total survivable platform solution that could be applied to UH-60 upgrades and Future Vertical Lift (FVL).

Bell Helicopter and HALO-Flight Sign Deal for Bell 429 at AMTC 2013

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today at the 2013 Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) that HALO-Flight, Inc., a non-profit air and ground ambulance service, will be adding a Bell 429 to their fleet for air ambulance operations.

We selected the Bell 429 for its modern design, cost effectiveness and single pilot IFR capability, which gives us peace of mind when our patients are counting on us,” said Tom Klassen, executive director at HALO-Flight.

NBAA – EcoServices and Vector-Hawk Aerospace are pleased to sign a teaming agreement for the launch of a new version of the EcoPower® engine cleansing system. This new engine cleansing system is specially developed for all international and domestic customers of commercial and military PT6 turboprop engine-powered aircraft.
 
This teaming agreement culminates 12 months of joint development and testing resulting in a customized version of the EcoPower® system.  The new product is an extension of the patented EcoPower® large cleansing system, which was hailed as the 2012 Eco-Technology product of the Year at the Air Transport Eco-Aviation awards event. Today, there are more than 30,000 PT6 engines in the world, which represents a market of considerable potential.

Boston MedFlight orders second EC145 for fleet replacement

VIRGINIA BEACH– American Eurocopter announced that Boston MedFlight has placed its second order this year for an EC145 helicopter for Air Medical Transport missions as part of an ongoing fleet replacement plan.
 
The order, which comes just weeks after Boston MedFlight took delivery of its first EC145, is an example of American Eurocopter’s continuing leadership in sales of new helicopters for Air Medical Transport and Emergency Medical Service missions. Three out of every four new helicopters put into air medical service in the last decade have been delivered by American Eurocopter.
