American Eurocopter Showcases VIP EC145 at NBAA 2012

ORLANDO, Florida (Oct. 29, 2012) -- American Eurocopter, one of the nation’s leading providers of helicopters for the corporate and VIP market in the U.S., will be showcasing a Lewis Energy EC145 on its booth (#2546) and performing demonstrations with an EC135 and EC155 at this year’s NBAA show October 30-November 1 in Orlando.

Halloween Jump Jet for Helicopter Museum

An experimental Harrier Jump-Jet used by Rolls-Royce in the 1980s to test a modified engine for a potential supersonic version, has become the first fixed-wing aeroplane to join the vertical flight collection at The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare.

Previously with the BAC Collection and Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust at Kemble in Gloucestershire, the Harrier is being moved by road today and will temporarily be stored until it can be re-assembled to go on permanent display at the Weston attraction.


Sharkey’s Helicopters and SkyTrac Systems take VIP Charters to a New Level

October 29, 2012: Sharkey’s Helicopters, a helicopter charter company based out of New Hampshire, has utilized the SkyWeb fleet management system from SkyTrac Systems on all 6 of its helicopters to provide premium service to VIP charter clients and to add to overall safety.  When Sharkey’s charters a helicopter to a VIP customer, they provide a special one-day logon for the helicopter that will be in service. This allows the customer’s office to know exactly where the aircraft is in real time.

Latitude’s SkyNode and IONode Products Now Certified for All Part 23 Aircraft

VICTORIA, British Columbia — October 26, 2012 — Latitude Technologies (Latitude) announced that the company has received a Transport Canada AML (Approved Model List) STC for the SkyNode S200 aeronautical data and voice transceiver for installation in all 853 Part 23 category aircraft.  The STC also certifies Latitude’s IONode ION100 advanced data acquisition unit for the same Part 23 aircraft types.  This is the second approved equipment AML STC earned by Latitude for aircraft under 12,500 lb., following the SkyNode S100 AML STC that Latitude received in February 2011.

MedFlight of Ohio Wins American Eurocopter’s 2012 Vision Zero Aviation Safety Award

SEATTLE (October 23, 2012) -- American Eurocopter is proud to announce that MedFlight of Ohio has won the 2012 Vision Zero Aviation Safety Award, topping the list of a record 25 nominees.

MedFlight representatives were presented with the award and a $10,000 check by Anthony DiNota, American Eurocopter Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support, during the AMTC Community Awards Banquet held Monday evening, Oct. 22. The funds will assist MedFlight in continuing to promote safety within the organization and with its customers.


CAE Bell 412 full-flight simulator in Mexico receives FAA Level D approval for training

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Simulation has qualified the CAE Bell 412 full-flight simulator (FFS) in Toluca, Mexico to Level D, the highest standard for flight simulation training devices. The simulator was initially approved by Mexico's Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). CAE Mexico is Mexico's first helicopter training facility to use an advanced simulator for training pilots and maintenance technicians. The facility is located at Mexico's leading business aviation airport, Aeropuerto Internacional de Toluca, Lic. Adolfo López Mateos, and is a convenient drive from Mexico City.

Miami Valley Hospital CareFlight Purchases AS365 N3+

SEATTLE (October 23, 2012) – American Eurocopter today announced Miami Valley Hospital of Dayton, Ohio, has purchased a new AS365 N3+ for its CareFlight program.
CareFlight Air and Mobile Services (CareFlight) has become an icon of Miami Valley Hospital (MVH). The program serves more than 150 hospitals and more than 300 community life squads, fire departments, and police departments in over 17 counties. Since its beginning in 1983, CareFlight has completed over 25,000 flights, serving a 150-mile radius including most of Ohio and parts of West Virginia, Michigan, Kentucky, and Indiana.
