Esterline CMC Electronics’ Third-Generation SureSight® Enhanced Vision System Achieves Certification

(Montreal, Canada  – December 15, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) received Type Certification from Transport Canada for its third-generation SureSight® Enhanced Vision System (EVS) sensor, known as the CMA-2700, on November 18, 2011.


Era Training Center (ETC) is pleased to announce that its first AW139 flight simulation training device (FSTD) has been FAA-certified as a Level 6 FSTD. This certification will allow helicopter operators to conduct AW139 training in ETC’s device under CFR Part 61 or train in the FSTD with their own instructors.

DanCopter Takes Delivery of its First AW139 Helicopter

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that DanCopter, a Blueway AS company, has taken delivery of the first of five AW139 medium twin helicopters. This aircraft will be used for offshore transport operations in Nigeria. An initial order for three AW139s was placed in 2010 which was followed by contracts for two additional units signed earlier this year. The orders are part of a Framework Agreement covering the purchase of a total of five AW139s with options for an additional four.

Venice Tessera NH90 Assembly Line Celebrates Its First Anniversary with a Double Delivery

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that its new NH90 Final Assembly Line, located at Venice Tessera in Italy, has successfully completed its first year of operations and celebrated the joint delivery of an NH90 TTH to the Italian Army and an NH90 NFH to the Italian Navy on December 16th. The facility has completed nine aircraft this year and is set to assemble and deliver up to18 aircraft in 2012.

AgustaWestland’s New Generation AW189 Helicopter Completes Its Maiden Flight

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that the first prototype of the AW189 twin engine 8-tonne class helicopter successfully completed its maiden flight yesterday. The aircraft was launched at the Paris Air Show earlier this year and this first prototype made its maiden flight ahead of schedule.  AgustaWestland aims to achieve civil certification for the AW189 in 2013 and to start deliveries in early 2014.
