Women in Aviation 2012 Scholarships Already at $375,000

Although the available scholarships for 2012 won’t be announced for 60 days, companies, organizations and individuals have already pledged more than 48 scholarships totaling $375,000 available to WAI members.  These scholarships cover expenses for academic study, technical training, flight training as well as specialized aviation activities, including recreational flying, engineering and maintenance.

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID FOR HELICOPTER PILOTS Mauna Loa Helicopters Gains DOE Approval for Federal Student Financial Aid

Mauna Loa Helicopters, one of the country’s oldest and largest helicopter pilot training schools, has received authorization from the U.S. Department of Education to offer Federal Financial Aid to its students.
Now a high school graduate can pay for their flight training at MLH with a federal loan just like they would pay for a university degree.  Students who qualify for the Parent Plus Loan can borrow up to the full tuition cost plus living expenses for the Professional Pilot Program.

Max-Viz, Inc. announced today that it had shipped its 1,000th Enhanced Vision System (EVS) marking a significant point in the company’s history. The unit, an EVS-1500, was shipped to the Agusta Westland factory in Italy and is expected to be installed on an AW139 sometime in the next few weeks.
