Hi,
We are looking at getting either a H300C or a an Enstrom. What are the Pros and cons to each. Planning on using it for a variety of things in Alaska .including some training for the 1 or 2 people. How do they compare performance-wise? Mx-wise?

Thanks

Having flown both I would say it really depends. It has been my experience that both are reliable and tough. I own and operate an Enstrom. The cabin is a little wider making it a little more comfortable with 2 passengers. Maintenance wise, in my opinion, the Enstrom is the only helicopter that makes sense for the private owner. There are only 12 life limited parts and no major inspection requirements. Just component overhauls. The negatives on the Enstrom is that the overhauls (except engine & turbo) have to be done by Enstrom. Also it is a turbo charged engine, which may be a negative or positive for you. Also since there are fewer Enstroms out there, there are few mods available for it.

The Enstrom has a high inertia rotor system and a superb safety record. The earlier models have no co-orlator or governor.

I suggest that you get a copy of the flight manual for each and compare the performance for each on each of your planned missions.
