Just watched 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty' and was curious as to what model amphibious helicopter was used during the scene where Walter is flown out to the ship? What seems wrong is the foley sound FX used when it was started up. A clear shot of the pilot switching on a mag to BOTH, then a turbine is heard winding up. That can't be correct, someone didn't do their research, or was just lazy. I believe a machine of that vintage was prob. piston powered, a small radial engine?

Haven't seen the movie, but judging by the comercials, I thought it might be a Bell 47J? As for the sound. I heard an R22 make a turbine sound in a movie once! I think it was a James Bond picture? Plus a lot of times they hold the cyclic with both hands! That's Hollywood for ya.

Yes , the movie was great. Another stretch of reality, he always gets a cell signal ANYWHERE he is, even at 18,000 ft on top of some mtn range in the middle of nowhere. Some good FX, but mostly the story of him trying to get this co-worker to notice him at work, his jerkoff boss being a PITA (who has one of those?!?!?) all while trying to find a missing negative for the final cover of LIFE mag, traveling everywhere on earth to get it. Recommended, you'll enjoy it.
