It looks like CalTrans is looking for SOCAL pilots to take a survey to help improve the aviation infrastructure. The PHPA (professional Helicopter Pilots Assoc.) is calling on SOCAL heli pilots to take the survey and make some comments regarding heliports. - Lyn

Info and survey link below.

FROM PHPA - Professional Helicopter Pilots Association
Please read the attached letter from AOPA, which asks pilots to complete a short survey regarding the usage of airports here in Southern California. The PHPA believes that we need more public-use heliports, both here in Southern California and nationwide,  and we need your voices to be heard on this issue!  The survey will include an area to make your comments on this issue.  Any assistance you can provide will greatly help our efforts.

FROM AOPA
Dear Pilot/Aircraft Owner,
The Southern California Association of Governments, in collaboration with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Aeronautics, and with the generous assistance of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is requesting your valuable input by completing the following Pilot/Aircraft Owner Survey.

The survey seeks to identify pilot and aircraft owner needs at the airports they fly into or where they base their aircraft. Your input is essential in helping airports throughout California plan to meet their general aviation needs over the next 25 years. The overall results of this survey will be widely published, and will provide valuable data for airports not just in California, but throughout the country.

The Southern California Association of Governments is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Los Angeles area, and is responsible for planning the regional transportation system for Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. The Caltrans Division of Aeronautics is responsible for assisting, promoting and protecting all public use airports in the State of California.

The survey is located online and should take about 5–10 minutes to complete. It does not need to be completed at once—you can complete part of it and return to complete it later if you wish, as long as you use the same computer (the survey instrument does not recognize individuals but recognizes responses from the same computer). The survey does not ask respondents to provide information about personal identities, and all information supplied by individual respondents will remain confidential.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey and providing your valuable input.

Best regards,
Chris Kunze, Chairman
California Transportation Commission
Technical Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (TACA)
Southern California Association of Governments
