So I found myself thinking today about what a wise man told me once. He said "Experimental" helicopters arn't worth the risk of a career. Which is totally debatable, on both sides of the house. I just can't stop thinking that it's not the helicopters fault for getting such a bad rap sheet. If people would build these things right they wouldn't be so bad! You can't tell me if you were buying a helicopter you wouldn't look to see if the thing had an experimental certificate, you wouldn't buy it? Or would you? People would debate time and time again it's how you build it...not the reason? People crash these things all the time! My friend almost lost his life to one and I still can't answer my own question. Are they safe? Can you even build a reliable peice of equipment? The mechanic signed off on it...but he just says the parts are good. I'm so lost... Can you even log the time in one? I'm sure it worth the time to build one but can you do it? alswis01
