About a month ago I had a routine eye exam which included getting three different types of drops. One for dilating the pupils, one to check for glaucoma, and one to anesthetize the eye. One or a combination of these drops had a reaction to my eyes which became very irritated and did not get better as time went on. I foolishly thought well, my eyes are still dilated, thats why I have the glare and the "starburst"at night. But by the second night I new something was wrong. Apparently, the reaction caused my cornea to get "roughed up", in the words of one doc, and dried out. They've been trying different types of drops (scary) but my night vision still sucks and does not seem to be getting better. My day vision is OK and it is right around 20/25, albeit the glare tends to give me headaches. My night vision has suffered though. Unfortunately I have to drive a lot of miles at night and the headlight glare and starburst effect drive me batty. I've been a fixed wing pilot for several years and am in the process of researching heli schools with the intention of attending one this summer. Surgery hasn't been discussed yet but, after this amount of time it might have to be an option. I'm sooo bummed....... Thanks for reading/listening Mike
