Hi folks - Okay yesterday I took my Stage 2 Check for Instrument and found out that I am weak in NOTAM reading. I was able to find all the contractions for the NOTAMS, but is there a site where I can go that has how the NOTAMS are broken down and how to read them? I can read them now, but would like to know more about them and a better understanding on how to read them. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and I passed my stage 2 with flying colors. Thanks Ed

Hey, I am in approximately the same stage as you are and a book that has proved it's worth a dozen times over for me is, "Aviation Weather Services." I only paid fiteen bucks for it and it is a great study tool for decoding METAR's, PIREPS, TAF's, weather depiction charts, basically every weather service out there. Even if you are attempting to save money throughout your training, you will not regret buying this book. As far as internet resources, I would try duats.com. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the site but you can set up an account and use it for all your weather information needs. If I remember correctly, it even decodes everything for those new pilots that struggle with weather analogy (myself included). Good luck with the instrument rating. It has definately been a challenge for me.
